Welcome to the
NYC Bike Parking Survey!
We are two Hunter
College graduate students
working with the NYC Department of City Planning Transportation Division to
improve our understanding of the public’s bike parking needs and
current bike parking resources. This
survey is designed to engage YOU in the decision making process as the city
ramps up its efforts to install thousands of new bicycle racks and other
bicycle parking facilities throughout the five boroughs within the next few
years. Please take a moment to
complete our brief (less than 10 minutes) survey below!

This map is
available for you to explore where other survey respondents have expressed
a desire for more parking. We will
update this map every few days using the responses that we receive.

About Us:
Wallace Murray and Jason Nu are
two graduate students in Hunter
College’s geography
department. Wallace commutes by
bicycle from his home in Crown Heights,
Brooklyn to Hunter
College on Manhattan’s
Upper East Side on a daily basis. Jason considers himself to be a more
recreational cyclist who regularly enjoys rides through Prospect
Park on the weekends.
We are conducting this bike parking survey in
conjunction with an urban planning course on the role of public
participation in municipal spatial planning. We’ve teamed up with the New York
City Department of City Planning’s Transportation Division in order
to achieve our common goal of increasing the public’s engagement in
bicycle planning decision making within the five boroughs.
